The Austin City Limits Music festival is an annual music event held at Zilker Park on Austin’s south side, near downtown Austin. Organized by Austin recording label C3 Presents and based out of Austin, Texas, the music celebration has been attracting music lovers from around the world since its inception in 1998. Featured this year are artists like Wanda Sykes, Trace Ayala, J.J. Johnson, Andra Day, and many more. Featured music includes hits from the New Years and Holiday songs, while classic rock is a favorite of music lovers throughout the year. C3 Presents, the company that organizes the ACL Fest, also serves as the publisher and promoter of local Austin radio station KXBL (KPBS in Austin).
This music and community festival is the brainchild of C3 Presents owner Les Clark, who is originally from nearby San Antonio. “We got together with some friends from the music scene in Austin,” says Clark, “and we wanted to create an atmosphere that could only come from Austin.” With the support and encouragement of local residents as well as the Austin City Limits staff, the Austin City Limits Music and Arts Festival grow into one of the country’s premier music festivals, attracting hundreds of visitors and musicians every year. It has also become one of Austin’s most successful non-profit programs, raising funds and awareness for a variety of charitable and community organizations in the process.
This festival is a great way to celebrate your interest in Austin’s rich music history and culture, as well as an opportunity to experience the Austin lifestyle with the help of Tickets4festivals. The festival culminates each weekend with the “Million Mask March”, which is an internationally recognized celebration of street protest music. Besides the music, visitors will be treated to street performances by local bands, as well as free amusement park rides and other fun activities. Make Austin the place you want to be by attending this years’ Austin City Limits Music and Arts Festival.
